Jaya Band – Kirtan & Bhakti Music at Yandara
At Yandara Yoga Institute in Baja, Mexico, our evenings come alive with the uplifting sounds of Kirtan and Bhakti Yoga music performed by Jaya, our resident house band. Jaya’s heartfelt performances weave together ancient Sanskrit mantras, soulful harmonies, and rhythmic drumming to create an atmosphere of connection, joy, and devotion.
What Is Kirtan and Bhakti Yoga?
Kirtan is a form of devotional chanting rooted in Bhakti Yoga, the yoga of love and devotion. Participants sing together in a call-and-response style, often accompanied by harmonium, drums, and guitar. At Yandara, Kirtan is more than music — it’s a spiritual practice and a celebration that opens the heart and deepens our sense of unity. Do you want to dive deeper into Kirtan and Bhakti Yoga? Jaya’s Kirtan Music at Yandara
Jaya plays during our Satsang evening gatherings, creating a sacred space where students, teachers, and community members join their voices. Whether you’ve sung Kirtan for years or are completely new, you’ll be welcomed into the circle and carried by the energy of live music under the Baja night sky.
Instruments & Sound of Jaya
The harmonium provides the soulful base, while rhythmic drums keep the heartbeat. Acoustic guitar, bass, and layered vocals add depth, blending Eastern and Western influences into a sound that is uniquely Yandara. Enjoy a video of Mercy Ananda sharing the mantra Shiva Shambo here.
